A Night with Johnnie Walker Blue and Traversing the Orient!

It was an evening of consistencies.  Chef Jessie's cuisine is always consistently tasteful and when her dishes are paired off with a premium Scotch Whisky like Johnny Walker Blue, which is consistently of the highest quality among whiskies, the dinner becomes extra special.

Johnnie Walker is a brand of Scotch Whisky owned by Diageo and originated in Kilmamrock, Ayshire Scotland.  Their Blue whisky is aged 25 years and is specially blended to recreate the character and taste of some of the earliest whisky blends created in the 19th century, giving it a rich, pearly taste combined with a smooth malty flavour. Every bottle is serial numbered and sold in a silk-lined box accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. There is no age declaration for Blue Label. It is one of the most expensive blended Scotches in the market, and for a good reason.

On this special Thursday evening, Johnny Walker Blue, represented by Diageo Director for the Far East Arif Essenc and their brand ambassador Jeremy Lee, partnered with Traversing the Orient magazine editors Mayenne Carmona and Suzette Lopez, Marketing Director Mya Ong, layout artist and Online editor Trixie Torralba to present their premium whisky once again.  The event was organized by the efficient and able staff of Eon, Inc. headed by its President Leanna Farrales Carmona and their Marketing Director Naissa Carmona

The event was highlighted by a video presentation of the interesting history of Johnny Walker Blue with Jeremy Lee as the commentator.  Diageo raffled a bottle of JW Blue which was won by George So and they also presented a bottle to Traversing's Editor in Chief.  The engraving of the bottles bought that night was done on the spot by their master engravers.

Needless to say, the event was attended by Johnny Walker Blue lovers who savored their Blue to the last drop.

Happy Birthday Johnny!

Johnny Litton's yearly birthday party is always a fund raising for his favorite charities, but the bulk goes to the EJ Litton Cancer Foundation

The usual venue is the Dusit Thani Manila's ballroom to accommodate the many well wishers of the popular media man, Oh No It's Johnny, who I always say is a Man for all Seasons.  His friends are of different ages, from different milieux of Philippine society. Every year I see new faces in his birthday party, which proves my point that his celebrity status is shining brighter than ever.

This year, his theme was Filipiniana with the iconic Bayanihan dance troupe performing our favorite native dances.  Some of the guests came in exquisitely embroidered Filipiniana as well.
It is always a pleasure to see friends of yesteryears gather to honor our dear friend, the one and only Johnny Litton.

A Surprise Party-What Fun!

It was an invitation from my lovable BFFs, Rene and Ann Puno to a dinner party at the palatial home of Ito Curata and Bob Miller.  They said it was a small group of friends wanting to get together on a Saturday night.

Little did I know that the party was for me! Now I know that when life throws me lemons, I should never feel down and depressed. All I have to do is think of my friends who love and care for me! They are truly a blessing from above!  Loving friends truly make life worth living!

Just look at all the smiling faces of my friends-such happy people with big hearts, I just love them all!

Multi talented Becky Garcia delighted us with her mini piano concert. John Gaddi and I danced a cha-cha/ salsa/ rhumba/ number to one of her pieces. The highlight of the evening were the toasts and roasts of all my dear friends. Oh, and we loved the raffle prizes from Ito and Bob!

Thank you my BFFs, Rene and Ann, for such a fun, fun, evening! Thank you Ito and Bob for  hosting the party at your Casa Bella!

Another Birthday Dinner and a Trip to Baclaran Church After!

Suzette Lopez had to host a dinner for me, she would not have it any other way! This time it was at the German Club in Legaspi Village. We agreed to do it on a Tuesday evening so we could go straight to Baclaran church for our weekly novena to our Lady of Perpetual Help. We make it a point to be there at midnight as Novena day is actually Wednesday. Our Baclaran group consists of Linda Ley, Len Olbes, Suzette Lopez, Jojo Zabarte and myself.  This particular Tuesday, our chic lawyer friend, Mela Bengson opted to join us.  Thank you Lord God for my beautiful, loving  generous, kindhearted, caring, fashionista, fun loving, prayerful, spiritual friends!

Ann and Rene Puno presented me with a big bouquet of my favorite flowers. Angel Rosales was gorgeous in red!
