1st Philippine Fashion Ball lived up to its Name!

Inspired by the Metropolitan Ball, the 1st Philippine Fashion Ball celebrated the movers and shakers of Philippine Fashion, from make-up artists to stylists, models, fashion designers, fashion editors and everybody connected to fashion.

Phoemela Baranda, current president of the Professional Models Association of the Philippines, the event's gracious host, put it as "It's one big celebration of all the individuals who embrace and steer the fashion industry. It's time we recognize the years of hard work and passion these people have been putting out to keep Philippine Fashion continually striving with Pizzaz."

The event was held at the Rigodon Ballroom of the Peninsula Hotel and it was truly one big party. The fashionistas all came in black and white, which was the motif of the Ball. I wore a ball gown by Dennis Lustico. Yards of black tulle made the voluminous skirt gorgeous. There were so many eye catching gowns, the evening was truly a showcase of Filipino designers' creativity and ingenuity.

Inside the ballroom, an enormous bottle cellar ice sculpture welcomed the guests. Silver trees covered the black-masked walls, reaching toward the ceiling. The hip music of DJ Mars Miranda plus the delicious concoctions of Belvedere Vodka, and the beverage of the "wild at heart, fit in body," Coke Zero, set the high mood of the evening.

Awards were given to exceptional individuals whose visions and talents have revolutionized the industry. With the success of this year's ball, there is no stopping the organizers to looking forward to a bigger, much exciting Fashion ball for years to come.

Joint Birthday Celebration Part 2

More and more beautiful photos came in of the party.  Years from now, these photos will refresh our memory of the FUN time we had that night at FEVER Lounge at Sofitel.  Not only did we enjoy the event but most importantly, we gave a few poor families in the AF/KLM Village at Gawad Kalinga a roof over their heads.

It is always an AHA moment for me every time I visit this village and see the joy in the poor children's faces because they are not out in the streets begging for their existence.

It is so worth my time and effort to fund raise for the poor and in behalf of my co celebrants Rupert Jacinto and Manny Lopez, I once again thank all our generous donors.

I am still drooling over this delicious mousse au chocolat birthday cake. Yummy!

A Fun-Filled Charity Birthday Bash at Fever Lounge, Sofitel!

It was undoubtedly the party of the month! When Maria Cristina del Carmen, the lovely PR of Sofitel Manila offered to host my birthday party for 250 people, I thought it would be more fun if I invited two other LEOS to join me as my co-celebrants. I chose Rupert Jacinto and Manny Lopez to co-celebrate with me and VOILA, the evening turned out to be the party to beat, in terms of attendance and FUN! It was the kind of high energy party, where the guests just couldn't get off the dance floor!

The theme of the evening was Moulin Rouge and guests were asked to come only in black or red to match the color scheme of Fever Lounge.

Together with my co-celebrants, Rupert Jacinto and Manny Lopez, I wish to thank all our sponsors- Manny Osmena for the generous supply of wines and bubbly that kept the guests giddy all throughout the evening, raffle sponsors Khristine Gabrielle of Ever BilenaSuzette Ayson, Michiko Graf, Cecile Infantado, Suzette Lopez, Mario Katigbak of Hermes, Richard Saul of Marriott, and lastly but most importantly the Executives of Sofitel Manila for sponsoring our celebration at their elegant Fever Lounge, the perfect party place! Thank you too to Meyen Baguio, Fever's stylish manager for her tireless efforts in working out the details of the party with us.

We thank all our guests who generously donated to our cause, housing for the poorest of the poor, at the AF/KLM Village in Gawad Kalinga.

Happy Birthday to us! More power!
